Tiger Rhino Tour

A tour concentrating on two of Northern India’s best parks; Dudhwa & Corbett. Concentrating on the Great One Horned Rhino and the Royal Bengal Tiger we will explore the Sal Forests of the Western Terrai that these two great Parks fall into. Dudhwa is known as the only park in Asia which has successfully relocated the Rhino, which are now thriving here, as well as “Billy” Arjan Singh’s attempts at releasing a captive Tigeress, “Tara” back into the wild, as a hunter now turned conservationist “Billy’s” knowledge of Terrai wildlife is indeed a marvel.
From Duwha to Corbett we switch our attention to nature’s perfect predator the aptly named Royal Bengal Tiger is a secretive and elusive Big Cat whose numbers have declined so drastically in recent years that it is now classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List. 2 Million years ago this fearsome predator roamed free all over Asia, now it faces its ultimate challenge, Survival! In the last 100 years their habitat has been decimated and they have lost 93% of their historic range.
India stands as the Flagship for Tiger Conservation with about 50% of all wild Tigers found in this diverse country. Corbett National Park the launching pad for Project Tiger is now home to the highest Tiger density in the world. Corbett has recently been voted the best managed park in Asia and Dhikala is the jewel of this park. The most unique apsect of Corbett is that it is one of the few National Parks in India that overnight stays are permitted, giving the visitor the ultimate Indian Jungle experience. Driving into Dhikala is like entering the lost world with the huge herds of Elephants roaming the grasslands and the elusive Tiger prowling the area, this is truly the place of legends as immortalised in the writings of Jim Corbett.
